Current Routine

This happens every two weeks. I get in the shower (with my hair in two sections), and take down 1 section at a time and shampoo. I mostly use Shea Moisture Curl and Shine Shampoo. I rinse that section under the shower and move on to the next section. I then take down each section, and add conditioner to that section, and detangle using my Jilbere wide tooth comb first, and then my Denman brush. I mostly use Aussie Moist, Pantene Relaxed & Natural Breakage Defense Deep Conditioning Mask, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask or any of the Yes to….. lines. I finish my shower routine: bathing, shaving….you get the idea. I then rinse my hair with my hair still sectioned off (this is part of my deep conditioning treatment…..I do not let the conditioner sit in my hair anymore for hours with a cap or using heat…..my hair hates that).

After getting out of the shower, I apply shea butter to my hair and twist it up. I recently whipped up a batch of shea butter using: aloe vera juice, glycerin, honey and castor oil. Once twisted I like to clip my ends every two weeks……excessive, I know, but my hair is healthier and appears to be more luscious and thick. I retwist my hair about five times over that two week period using shea butter, water and a Denman brush on dried hair.

  • For protein, I use either Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor or Aphogee Two - Step Protein Treatment.
  • For clarifying, I use Shea Moisture Deep Cleaning Shampoo or Bentonite Clay with apple cider vinegar.
  • For moisture, I use shea butter, water and Shea Moisture Hold and Shine Moisture Mist.
