Is Black Less Attractive?

I am an Individualist; I defy any form of collectivism and discrimination on the basis of collectivism. Racism or color discrimination is one of the most heinous forms of collectivism. While describing racism and its ill-design, Ayn Rand wrote,

“Racism claims that the content of a man’s mind (not his cognitive apparatus, but its content) is inherited; that a man’s convictions, values and character are determined before he is born, by physical forces beyond his control. This is the caveman’s version of the doctrine of innate ideas—or of inherited knowledge—which has been thoroughly refuted by philosophy and science. Racism is a doctrine of, by and for brutes. It is a barnyard or stock-farm version of collectivism, appropriate to a mentality that differentiates between various breeds of animals, but not between animals and men.”

How true these words are. We may get attracted by someone only by his looks, but will that attraction lead to the way of love just on the basis of the color of the skin of a person?

I cannot support that Idea. Because, while attraction is an impulse, love or to love is a rational decision. We do not start liking and loving someone just because he or she is beautiful or because he or she has a particular complex of skin. We do love a person only when we see that particular person deserves our love, admiration and respect.

It is so simple, you cannot start admiring a girl just because she is a blond, however, if you come to know that the girl is as talented as Julia Roberts is, or Madam Curie was, then you will certainly start admiring her.

However recently, a racist and allegedly scientific report was published by a British psychologist who claims that black women are less attractive than others.'

Satoshi Kanazawa, a lecturer at the London School of Economics performed this skewed study which claims that while Asian women are most attractive, Black women are least attractive. How is it possible?

A person may have his or her own taste. You may find a blond much more sexually attractive than a Brunette or an Asian girl. It is also true that you have the right to acknowledge your personal taste and to say that you do not like a black girl that much. But how can you generalize it? How can you say that black women are least attractive by nature? Can you say that Jennifer Lopez is less attractive than say an Asian girl Asin or Karina Kapoor? No, you cannot say that, what you can say is that you prefer Karina Kapoor over Jennifer Lopez, it is your personal taste.

It may be true that out of the sample people to whom Satoshi Kanazawa studied during his research, might have a majority of such persons, who by their individual tastes and preferences find Asian girls more attractive than American or European girls and a Black girl to be chemical changes that takes place in our body when we face a stranger girl. This sexual attractiveness is natural. However, the color or skin of that girl doesn’t affect our chemicals. We take impressions of her facial dimensions, her breasts to waist and upper thighs curve ratio. The calculations goes fast in our mind and even before realizing that these calculations have gone through out mind, we start feeling attraction towards that girl and that too, without being affected by her color.

However, it is hard to find a person who is pure with no impressions of his or her environment. If you are more familiar with Asian girls, you may find Asian girls more attractive. Yet, all these observations will be truly yours. You cannot generalize it to say that all men feel that Asian girls are most attractive or black girls are least attractive. From my point of view, a sexy black girl is as attractive as a seductive blond, or hot Asian girl.
However, Satoshi Kanazawal tried to rationalize his observations on the basis of testosterone. He said, "The only thing I can think of that might potentially explain the lower average level of physical attractiveness among black women is testosterone.”

He further added, "Africans on average have higher levels of testosterone than other races...women with higher levels of testosterone have more masculine features and are therefore less physically attractive."
And in order to give weight to his personal theory, he gave an example saying, Naomi Campbell is less attractive than fellow supermodel Elle Macpherson.

I am not a scientist, however, I refuse to generalize girls to discriminate them on the basis of color, I refuse to be racist.
